Exports

In order to export animals or animal products, it is usually necessary to provide the destination country with official statements and assurances relating to the consignment being sent. Such assurances are in place to prevent the importation and spread of animal disease.

Export Health Certificates (EHCs) and Intra Trade Animal Health Certificates (ITAHCs) are issued by Animal Health to act as the accompanying documentation for such export consignments.
In this section you will find information on:

  • Different types of export certificates
  • How to apply for an export certificate
  • Official Veterinarians
  • Poultry Health Scheme
  • Welfare of Animals in Transit

The import, export and use for commercial gain of certain endangered species requires a CITES permit. For more information see the Endangered Species web pages.
